Apply for Funding

The Bismarck Parkinson’s Support Group will accept as many applicants as received. Applications will be kept on file for upcoming years or if additional funding for this program becomes available.

Multi-year funding will be available only to businesses and non-profits that work directly with individuals with Parkinson’s disease.  Organizations receiving multi-year funds are only eligible to apply for new funding in the grant cycle following receipt of their final installment payment. Organizations that receive multi-year grants are required to submit a report for every year they receive funding on the specifics behind the use of the walking sticks.

If you have questions regarding applying for funding, please feel free to reach out by email to Andrea Engle at andrea.engle@benedictineliving.org  or  by calling 701-751-5223.

Selection Process

All proposals are reviewed by the Bismarck Parkinson’s Support Group board. They may contact applicants with questions and request more information before a determination is made. Proposals are assessed based on:

  • Their alignment with the Bismarck Parkinson’s Support Group funding priorities;
  • The organization’s capacity to carry out the expected activities without duplicating services already provided;
  • How effectively the proposed activities can address an expressed need in the community; and the likelihood of achieving measurable, positive impact.
  • The needs of the Parkinson’s patient directly align with the needs of walking sticks.

The ultimate grant making decision resides with the Bismarck Parkinson’s Support Group board and is usually determined during the monthly board meetings. Once a decision is made, applicants are notified within a timely manner.

We will have applications available at our monthly support group meetings. Submit application to:  Bismarck Parkinson’s Support Group, PO Box 4174, Bismarck ND  58502  or you may email it to Andrea Engle at  andrea.engle@benedictineliving.org
